MESSAGE FROM THE CADET LEADERS OF BATCH 51 ('23/'24)

The journey that you embarked on when you first joined SJI NPCC is akin to a young goose setting off on his first flight. Sure, it might be filled with uncertainties and challenges; the young goose might take a wrong turn flying and get lost, but the vast sky is filled with limitless possibility, and every flight taken; the SJI NPCC experience of every cadet, will be an unpredictable and truly unique one. And you will never be alone. Geese always fly in a V-shaped formation with others, who take the brunt of the wind for you and looking out for you. These fellow geese are your squadmates, mentors, cadet leaders, and officers, who are always looking out for you so that you don't get lost.

Our path in SJI NPCC is filled with excitement, growth, and the chance to make a difference, with activities like community advocacy (CSSP & PYA), crime scene investigation, and camps. As cadets, you will experience moments of doubt, fear, and hesitation, but through it all, you will develop a strong sense of purpose and these key values that our unit is anchored on: resilience, camaraderie, discipline, and excellence, will be deeply inculcated in you. Remember, true courage is not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. Embrace the challenges, learn from your experiences, and emerge stronger and more resilient.

Geese are also fiercely territorial. They fight for what is theirs. In SJI NPCC, we believe in striving and overcoming adversity to protecting our beloved homeland of Singapore, by improving homefront security and anti-crime awareness and by raising up passionate warriors to defend our home. We believe it is our duty to do what we can as youth to protect what we call home.

Let us continue to uphold the proud colours and rich history of SJI NPCC!

Ora et Labora and best regards,
SI (NPCC) Seow Yi Xuan Ethan, SI (NPCC) Jedidiah Eo Shuo, and SI (NPCC) Ibramsa Idris Ahamed
Unit Chairpersons of SJI NPCC, on behalf of the Cadet Leaders.

History of SJI NPCC

The St. Joseph's Institution National Police Cadet Corps unit was founded in 1971. Throughout the years, hundreds of cadets have filed through the doors of the unit, witnessing the legacies passed which have been cast in stone, right here in SJI.

The SJI NPCC was ranked joint-4th in Singapore in 2005, based on the achievements in the UOPA. The unit was awarded the silver cane after achieving Gold Award for UOPA five years consecutively, and has been consistently achieving UOPA Gold, the pinnacle award any NPCC unit can achieve, since 2010.

It is in Area 13, consisting of other NPCC Units that are namely Hwa Chong Institution, St. Margaret's School (Secondary), Nanyang Girls' High School, and Raffles Girls' School (Sea Unit).
