Dear all,

Welcome back to training! On behalf of the Exco, we hope that you all enjoyed the Chinese New Year holidays! Below are the details for this week's physical training session.

Date: 4th Feb 2025

Reporting Venue: Foyer 2

Duration: 1445 hrs - 1745 hrs

Batch 54 Overview

Attire: PT Kit

Sec 2s, after your fidget test, we will be focusing on improving your static drills, dressing drills, and your full turning drills. By now, all of you should have learnt how to execute them properly, so we expect to see good results this training. After which, we will hold a campcraft session, where your Dhillshan sir will be recapping on the stopper knots, loop knots and bends. Your FIs will likely be holding a mini competition to test your knowledge, so use the next few days to prepare yourselves accordingly for Friday.

Batch 53 Overview

Attire: PT Kit

Sec 3s, after your fidget test, you will be doing a recap on the rifle drills you have learnt thus far. Namely, Hormat Senjata, Rusok Senjata from Hormat, and a new drill that we will share more about during training itself. Next, there will be a campcraft session, where you will practise all of the different knot families you have learnt (stopper, loop, bends, shortening formations). We will also be covering hitches, lashings and coils. We highly encourage you all to read up on the resources given to you, as we expect that you come fully-prepared for what is being taught.

Batch 52 Overview

Attire: PT Kit

Sec 4s, we will begin this training session with our drills session. We will be recapping on all the drills learnt so far. This includes static drills, dressing drills, full turning drills and sizing drills. If time permits, we will also be teaching a new type of drill, pacing drills. We ask that you all keep an open mind and give your undivided attention towards your FIs and what they have in store. Before then, do read up on said drills so that you know what to expect.

After that, you will fall in at FN303 for your campcraft session, in which we will do a quick recap of all of the knot families you have learnt, as well as teach you a new type of knot, lashings. Your FIs will also be holding a campcraft test (which was supposed to be held last training), where you will be tested on all 4 knot families. Hence, we ask you all to read up extensively on the OSS handbook, as well as resources online, to help yourselves prepare well.

Thank you, and may God bless you all

Yours Sincerely

SGT (NPCC) Reagan Low

Deputy Unit Chairperson of Administration
